The Worrigee Equestrian Common is situated 3.5km east of Nowra on the Worrigee Road, where 10.44 ha of land has been donated by Olympic Bronze Medallist Mervyn Bennett and family for the exclusive use by the equestrian fraternity throughout the region.

The Common is run by a small, dedicated group of volunteers made up from the local equestrian clubs under the guidance of Shoalhaven City Council, who have greatly assisted the Committee with equipment and funds for upgrading the facilities.

The Common has a clubhouse situated upon a bank overlooking the main arena, with the bank providing excellent viewing for all spectators. The clubhouse has canteen facilities for meals, a large area for administration, announcer’s box with a P.A. system, and scorer’s room for privacy. Within this facility, there are five toilets (two inside, three outside) with the three outside toilets having hot showers. The Common has two other toilet blocks, one at the southern end with two toilets and two hot showers, and one at the northern end which has three “fillies” and one “colt” toilet.

There are 149 timber yards (approx. 3.6 x 3.6 m) all with either metal gates or slip rails, spread amongst the trees on the eastern side of the main arena, along with limited powered sites.

The Common is situated close to the Nowra East Shopping Centre which has a variety of shops including a petrol station, butcher, baker, chemist and newsagent to accommodate those camping. There is also the Shoalhaven Sportsman’s Club situated close by for those who wish some relaxation.

There are a number of motels situated within 10 minutes of the venue, as well as a range of restaurants and also various attractions in and around Nowra.
